I am not my hair. I am not this skin. I am not your expectations…I am the soul that lives within.
– India Arie “I Am Not My Hair”I’ve gone bantu knot crazy ! This is my most favorite style as I’ve been transitioning ! It blends the two textures well ! Just a spritz of water, dab of oil, and a pinch of lotion, and the rest is history! :)
These are some of the goodies that I purchased at the meet-up! I absolutely love my shirt and buttons! Can’t wait to wear them!!!

The NaturallyFlyy Detroit Meet-up and one year anniversary was an amazing turn out! With over 300 natural, and aspiring naturals like myself in attendance seeking advice, support, and some authentic accessories from one of a kind vendors! There were goodie bags filled with samples from Jessicurl, Ouidad, Goody, Design Essentials, Angelic Soaps & Gifts, and Just Lovely Accessories. There was also a raffle with gifts from sponsors such as Shea Moisture, HuetifulHair Steamer, Original Moxie, and more! EttaFlyy & Jenn truly made this an event to remember and one you can benefit from on so many levels!

I’ll admit that this has been a long process of transitioning to natural hair! I am renewing myself, getting back to the way God made me! I am all for protective styling, especially in the harsh summer weather. My favorite protective style was the “kinky twists”! They were easy to manage, versatile, and a glimpse of how locs would look (I’m dying to loc my hair!!!)
